Update on Website and Licensing
First, some exciting news! From now on, I’ll be giving away a viewer’s bottle during every live draw. To take part, simply join the livestream and leave a comment — if your name is pulled, the bottle is yours. The very first viewer’s prize was a Speyburn Rum Cask Finish, a dram I recently enjoyed for its smooth and easy character.
October Draw Dates
Please note there will be no live draws on 2nd and 23rd October, as I’ll be away. Instead, those competitions will be drawn the following weeks, on 9th and 30th October. This means the 9th will feature six draws plus the viewer’s bottle, so the stream may run a little longer than usual. My aim is to keep dates and times as consistent and transparent as possible, while avoiding clashes with other competitions.
Licensing Progress
As many of you know, I am still in the process of securing a premises licence. After completing my SCPLH (Scottish Certificate for Personal Licence Holders), I have since received both the Food Hygiene Certificate and the Building Standards Section 50 Certificate. I’m now only waiting on the Planning Certificate before I can finally submit the full premises licence application.
Until that’s approved, I’ll be limiting the number of travel editions going live on the website. This is simply to avoid running the same competitions repeatedly, which could become stale. Behind the scenes, however, I already have 15 travel editions ready to go, and I plan to pick up even more whiskies on the ferry by early December.
A Word of Thanks
I want to thank every one of you for your support during this period. I’ll be honest — I’m at the very edge of my financial limit, and your continued participation really helps keep things moving until the licence comes through. Once it’s in place, I’ll finally be able to launch those travel editions that are currently sitting in reserve. Hopefully, that day isn’t too far away now.
Cheers,
David
