Aberlour 16 Year Old Double Charred Selection (43% ABV)
This 16-year-old single malt undergoes double cask maturation in American oak and Oloroso sherry casks, with a portion finished in double-charred American oak barrels. The result is a rich and complex whisky featuring notes of crème brûlée, honeycomb, caramelised apples, and dried apricot on the nose. The palate offers white chocolate, vanilla cream, cinnamon-spiced bananas, and coconut sorbet, culminating in a warming, sweet finish with subtle spiced undertones.
Aberlour Suthainn (48% ABV)
A non-age-statement release, Suthainn is crafted using a unique adaptation of the solera process and undergoes extra maturation in European sherry hogshead casks. This method produces distinctive batches that amplify Aberlour’s signature sherried richness and spice. Tasting notes include freshly baked blackcurrant and apple pie, vanilla cream, cinnamon spice, and marzipan on the nose. The palate features toffee apples, pear drops, fresh strawberries, creamy oak, and butterscotch sauce, leading to a sweet and creamy finish with aromatic spice.
All three expressions are presented in redesigned packaging that reflects Aberlour’s connection to its natural surroundings. The new design features a warm, earthy colour palette and a label depicting an oak tree over water, symbolising the distillery’s proximity to the River Lour. The packaging also incorporates sustainable elements, including a recyclable presentation canister and a 16% reduction in glass bottle weight compared to previous designs.
