🥃 About the Whisky
Lindores Abbey has an exceptional place in the story of Scotch whisky. The earliest written reference to Scotch whisky production dates back to 1494, when Friar John Cor of Lindores Abbey was commissioned to make aqua vitae for King James IV.

The name MCDXCIV represents 1494 in Roman numerals, celebrating this historic connection to Scotland’s whisky-making heritage.

Lindores Abbey MCDXCIV is matured using a combination of bourbon barrels, wine barriques and sherry butts, bringing together fruit, sweetness and gentle spice.

It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and presented at natural colour.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Soft vanilla and caramel accompanied by orchard fruits, pear and sweet fruit notes.
Palate: Smooth and creamy, with vanilla, dried fruit and citrus complemented by gentle spice.
Finish: A delicate, lingering finish with fruit and spice gradually fading.
