A Kentucky Bourbon Icon
Wild Turkey 101 has been made in its distinctive style for more than six decades and has become one of the best-known expressions in Kentucky bourbon.
The bourbon is produced using a high-rye recipe, giving it additional spice and character, before being matured for approximately 6–8 years.
Maturation takes place in new American White Oak barrels treated with Wild Turkey’s deep No. 4 “alligator” char. The heavily charred oak helps create the bourbon’s deep amber colour and contributes layers of caramel, vanilla, oak and spice.
Bottled at 101 proof – equivalent to 50.5% ABV – it retains the powerful, full-bodied character for which Wild Turkey 101 is known.
Tasting Notes
Aroma:
Rich vanilla leads the way, joined by cinnamon, caramel and seasoned oak.
Palate:
Full-bodied and powerful, beginning with sweet vanilla and caramel before developing into oak, baking spices, black pepper and warming rye spice.
Finish:
Long, warming and spicy, with lingering oak, classic Wild Turkey spice and a touch of orange peel.
